Our world map as a Push Pin Map is designed to mark visited places, special memories, and new travel destinations directly on the map with pins. There is even the possibility to make entire travel routes visible on the world map using route string by connecting the placed pins. There are many world maps available for pinning and marking travels – including providers with good quality. From our perspective as graphic designers and passionate globetrotters, however, three features are crucial: the design, the variety of configurations, and the materials.

Many maps on the market are very colorful, overloaded with details, or not professionally designed enough. Especially when marking visited countries and new travel destinations, a reduced, clear layout is a great advantage. It improves readability and ensures that the pins – and thus your very personal travel stories – stand out better. Additionally, good design deserves selected materials that guarantee overall high product quality and ensure that you can still enjoy your world map even after years. To give you as much freedom of choice as possible, you can configure our world map products in many ways and even personalize them upon request.

The world maps of the TRAVEL® series are characterized by a minimalist design without sacrificing a high level of detail. Clear lines, balanced colors, and modern typography ensure that your marked locations immediately catch the eye – making your world map a real eye-catcher. With the TRAVEL® world map, we deliberately omit the depiction of Antarctica. The reason: in the Mercator projection, it takes up a disproportionately large amount of space when unfolded. Additionally, we believe Antarctica should remain a special place, ideally spared from tourism.

If Antarctica is a must-have for you, ANTARCTICA® is the right choice. In terms of content, this world map is identical to TRAVEL® – but includes the depiction of Antarctica.

Do you prefer it extremely reduced and particularly minimalist? Then FINELINE® is just right for you. Here, the landmasses consist only of fine outlines, making locations and markings stand out even more. In terms of content, FINELINE® is also identical to TRAVEL®.

Slim-Line and Gallery-Line describe the frame depth of your Push Pin Map.

Slim-Line features a 2 cm deep frame. It lies completely flat against the wall, creating a subtle shadow effect.

Gallery-Line is twice as deep at 4 cm, standing out more from the wall and giving the world map a particularly high-quality gallery look with a stronger shadow effect. At the same time, the 4 cm frame offers an extra level of stability – especially for larger Push Pin Maps from 160 cm, the Gallery-Line is therefore particularly recommended.

If you prefer it as flat and understated as possible, Slim-Line is the right choice. For more presence on the wall and additional stability, we recommend the Gallery-Line.

The difference between Push Pin Canvas LITE and PLUS lies mainly in the construction behind the canvas – and thus in the pinning experience.

The Push Pin Canvas LITE consists of a high-quality, tightly stretched gallery canvas made of 100% cotton from SIHL®. It already allows for simple and reliable pinning and is ideal if you only mark your world map occasionally or primarily want to use it as a stylish wall decoration.

With the Push Pin Canvas PLUS, we additionally insert a PALBOARD® rigid foam board directly behind the canvas into the stretcher frame. This makes pins hold even more firmly and comfortably – especially if you want to mark many places, work with route string, or attach photos, tickets, and other souvenirs.

Especially for frequent travelers and anyone who wants to use their world map intensively, the PLUS version is therefore the best choice.

The world map is available in various Sizes – from compact Sizes starting at 80 cm wide for smaller rooms to large XXL Sizes up to 200 cm wide for a strong presence on the wall.

The larger the Size, the more details can be displayed on the map and the more comfortably places can be marked with pins. Smaller Sizes are deliberately designed to be somewhat simplified so that the map remains clear, balanced, and easy to read despite limited space. If you want to mark especially many places or value a high level of detail, we therefore recommend a larger Size.

The ocean depths are a matter of optics – not numerical values. To keep the design as minimal as possible, we depict the oceans as a solid color area. Is that too monotonous for you? Then optionally enable the ocean depths: This visual addition visibly breaks up the background and, quite literally, adds more depth. This makes the world map appear a bit more lively without losing its clear and minimalist character.

Please note: The "Ocean Depths" option is not available for the MULTICOLOR Terra and MULTICOLOR Topo colors, as both maps already include visual ocean depths.

Yes, you can personalize your world map individually and make it a true one-of-a-kind. You have several options for customization:

At the bottom left, you can either choose the Bourdain quote (standard in English) or have your own desired quote printed.

At the bottom right, you can place your first name, last name, and even a small legend for the pins. You can choose from five different designs the one that suits you best. For businesses, there is also the option to have your own logo printed on the world map for a small additional fee.

If a specific desired location is especially important to you, you can name up to five places that must not be missing from your world map. After receiving your order, we will check for free whether these places are already included on the map and add them if necessary. Simply enter your desired locations in the comment field at checkout.

Our concept follows a clear minimalism. This means that we not only omit all non-essential elements in the design of the maps but also in their implementation. Our Push Pin Maps can be easily hung directly on two nails or screws on the stretcher frame. An additional hanging device (such as sawtooth hangers) is not necessary. This brings several advantages:

• The canvas lies as flat as possible against the wall.
• We reduce the risk of scratches on the wall/wallpaper that a hanging device can cause.
• Flexible hanging and positioning.
• Additional components mean additional potential points of failure.

So we are not "saving" on a hanging device; we are consciously choosing to forgo one. This solution has proven itself well over the years.
